г г Unfortunately I won't get to Dartmoor until Sunday...I have husband/ wife stuff to do tomorrow, a grim prospect indeed. My eyesight is equivalent to that of a myopic mole, without correction I couldn't even get out of bed safely. Contact lenses in my experience get washed out, especially when I open my eyes to try and work out which way is up. I have paddled for years with a my glasses strapped to my head with a neoprene strap (available from sport shops etc). I've never lost a pair yet, despite some epic swims and trashings. They do steam up in warm weather, always handy if you need an instant excuse for missing the line, hitting the biggest rock in the river etc. https://peatix.com/user/2830063
If there's no rain next w/e- any chance of another surf report on Friday night!! I used to work for Derby City Youth Service (and social services for a year) I probably haven't come across you if your working in Matlock (is that Lea Green?). https://peatix.com/user/2829919
г Cheers Myself I use a Perception Method Air, very similar to an Inazone 242. I have a very low volume playboat (Amp) which has seen plenty of river action (inc. grade 5), but as I get older and wiser the notion of extracting my feet from a numb position tightly wedged between the decks whilst pinned under a siphon...becomes oddly less appealing. Comfort and safety are becoming more important to me (too late for my deformed feet). I think I've passed my macho 'no pain no gain' phase, I'll be using lardy creek boats before you know it... https://peatix.com/user/2829712
I've got an Inazone 232, wanted it for the same reason. Perhaps the river leader award would take the ideas of coaching on moving water (ie. L3K skills) but leading paddlers who already have good basic skills, ie. 3* ? https://peatix.com/user/2830028
At least all the boats we lost this weekend were found!! I have spoken to some people about getting a working visa for NZ. Have you got one? How do you you apply? Is it hard to get one? Do you need a job before you go or can you get one in country? Cheers https://peatix.com/user/2829719
(Adrian thanks for the contact I'll ring im now...he's just up the road from me and I didn't even know!) г https://peatix.com/user/2831838
My understanding is that pool teaching doesn't count towards logged coaching hours because they must be on the type of water you are qualifying for. Anybody else want me to host a picture?
